Ramblings and Other Blathering Ons

Welcome to YAB

Welcome to Yet Another Blog (YAB).  Two years ago I started a technical blog, ScottOnWriting.NET, a blog that initially started out focusing on technical writing and quickly morphed into a blog about not only writing about technology, but about implementing technology as well (primarily ASP.NET).  I have done my best to keep ScottOnWriting.NET free from the personal ramblings that, in my opinion, dilute the quality of many a technical blogs.  However I like the sound of hearing myself type about myself so I decided to start up this here “personal” blog, one where I could babble on to my heart's content without fear of weakening the focus/purpose of my more technically-oriented blog.  (Granted, I realize that there are about six people in the world interested in reading about my personal thoughts/life as compared to the thousands that read my technical blog... to those six readers, I say, Hello.)

In addition to this personal blog and ScottOnWriting.NET I also have a blog focusing on the real-estate bubble, ReadyToBurst.com.  (Yes, I realize this topic is being wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyy overdone in the 'blogosphere,' but it's a topic of interest to me seeing as I live in one of the most (IMO) overpriced areas (San Diego, CA) and it's my ardent hope to see the bubble burst here so that I can afford a nice single family home in the part of town I like.  Of course, this may be all pure fantasy, but it's fun/stress-relieving to read up on articles/data that suggest that we're in a housing bubble, and then post them to ReadyToBurst.com with self-reassuring comments.  (”See, we will be able to buy a home here one day!”)

And if three blogs weren't enough (this one, ScottOnWriting.NET, and ReadyToBurst.com), I also have a fourth blog for good measure: NBAWebLog.com.  NBAWebLog.com is, actually, a few blogs from different folks, mine focusing on the Lakers, although there was really no Lakers to focus on this year after about April 10th.  I'm a big NBA fan and play a lot of basketball myself, and started NBAWebLog.com two years ago as well as a way to chronicle the Hall-of-Fame squad the Lakers had with Shaq/Kobe/Malone/and Payton... of course we all know how that turned out.
